Krasiński, Zygmunt
Born: February 19, 1812 in Paris
Died: February 23, 1859. A Polish poet from Paris. Along with A. Mickiewicz and J. Słowacki, he is one of the three great national poets of Polish Romanticism. His father was a general who served in Napoleon's army. He studied law in Warsaw and was active mainly in France in the latter half of his life. His representative works include two major plays, Nie-Boska Komedia (1835), Irydion (36), and the religious-philosophical poem Psalmy przyszłości (45).
