Lost Property Law - Ishitsubutsuho
This law stipulates how lost property should be submitted to the police and returned to its owner when it is found. It came into force in 2007. The old Lost Property Law, which came into force in 1899, was completely revised, shortening the storage period for lost property from six months to three months and making it available on the internet.

遺失物を拾った場合の警察への提出や、持ち主への返還等について定めた法律。平成19年(2007)施行。明治32年(1899)施行の旧遺失物法が全面改正され、遺失物の保管期間が6か月から3か月に短縮されたほか、インターネットで公開されるようになった。
