...After the Asakusa Opera era ended, this light theater troupe was founded in 1929 at the Aquarium Entertainment Hall in Asakusa, Tokyo. The actors included Kenichi Enomoto (Enoken), Morie Ishida, Zeko Nakamura, and Ryuko Umezono (dancer), and the literary club included Ryuzo Shimamura and Hisao Yamada. They performed skits that satirized current affairs by mixing songs, dances, and gags, and gained popularity by participating in the "erotic, grotesque, nonsense era" of the time.
