English Revolution

…From 1938 onwards, he served in the military and was a Fellow at Balliol. In his book The English Revolution (1940) he presented a Marxist view of civil revolution, which drew both criticism and a great deal of attention. He was Headmaster at his alma mater, Balliol, from 1965 to 1978.
