This personality test was published in 1945 by S. Rosenzweig of the University of Washington, starting from an elucidation of the frustration-aggression theory. Twenty-four cartoon-style scenes of frustration that anyone might encounter in their daily lives are presented, and the respondent's personality is assessed based on how he or she responds to the thwarted desires in the characters' conversations. Analysis is based on the direction of attack (internal punishment, external punishment, and no punishment) and the reaction types (obstacle dominance, ego defense, and desire persistence).
