An island in the eastern part of the Geiyo Islands in northern Ehime Prefecture. It belongs to Kamijima Town, Ochi County. It is surrounded by the islands of Innoshima, Ikuchijima, Iwagijima, and Yugejima. It is long and narrow, stretching 3.5 kilometers from north to south, with an area of 3.68 square kilometers. There are dolmen ruins (a group of megaliths) on Tateishiyama (139 meters) in the northern part of the island, as well as the remains of the castle of the Innoshima Murakami Navy. Many people commute to Innoshima, and ferries depart and arrive frequently. The Ikina Bridge was completed in 2011, connecting the island to Yugejima and Sashima by land. Population 1,871 (2009).
