Date of birth and death unknown. A woman from the early Kamakura period. She was the favorite concubine of the retired Emperor Gotoba. Her name was Kamegiku. She was originally a Shirabyoshi. It is said that one of the causes of the Jōkyū War (1221) was that the retired Emperor tried to dismiss the land stewards who had been appointed by the shogunate to the two manors of Nagae and Kurahashi in Settsu, which he had given to Iga no Tsubone, because they did not follow the orders of the lord Iga no Tsubone. As a result of the Jōkyū War, the retired Emperor Gotoba was exiled to Oki, but Iga no Tsubone followed the retired Emperor and served him as a close aide until his death. She probably took the opportunity of the retired Emperor's death to become a nun and take the name Kihon.
