Ikado - Thunder

… In Japan, many of the Izumo deities have the characteristics of thunder gods, and in the Kojiki and Nihon Shoki, the eight thunder gods and the thunder god born when the fire god Kagutsuchi was cut are known. The term Ikazuchi appears in Volume 3 of the Manyoshu, where Ika is the root of an adjective meaning "severe," and Tsuchi is the name of a spirit associated with snakes, just like Tsuchi in Mizuchi (a dragon). In the local dialect, it is called Kandachi, which means a divine revelation, and Amaru, which refers to a thunderbolt, is said to mean Amor (descending from heaven). …
