Japanese: 会津農書 - あいづのうしょ
Aizu Agricultural Books

An agricultural book from the Edo period written by Sase Yojiemon. It consists of three volumes, upper, middle and lower, and is approximately 60,000 words long. It is said to have been published in 1684 (Jokyo 1). It is a compilation of agricultural techniques, management and events in the Aizu region at that time, and describes in great detail the cultivation, soil, fertilizer and labor required for paddy field and field farming. In addition to the main work, there are the Aizu Nosho Fukuraku and Aizu Utanousho, the former of which was created during the Genroku and Hoei periods (1688-1711) and describes the agricultural weather of the Aizu region based on the experiences of an old farmer. It is said to have consisted of eight volumes in total, but currently only four volumes have been discovered: volumes 2, 4, 6 and 8. "Aizu Song Farming Book" was created during the Hoei era (1704-1711), and the contents of the book are divided into three volumes, with 1,668 poems, with the aim of spreading the techniques. In addition, there is also "Local Song Farming Book" (Jikata Uta Nosho), which is an excerpted version of this book.
