The translation by Naojiro Murakami consists of two volumes, the Gyeonggi edition (collected in 'Ikoku Sōsho'), two volumes, the Bungo edition (collected in 'Zoku Ikoku Sōsho'), and one volume, the Shimo edition (collected in 'Nagasaki Sōsho'). The Bungo edition and the Shimo edition are reconstructed based on the original text in 2 volumes, 'Jesuits' Japan Correspondence' (collected in 'Shin Ikoku Sōsho'). The letters in this book vividly convey the reality of the early Christian missionary work in Japan and the various aspects of Japanese society during the Warring States period. …
