...Jakshitsu's disciples, Yaten Eishaku, Koskei Shukaku, Reichu Zenei, and Matsumine Doshu, each built Yoan-ji, Taizo-ji, Sogen-ji, and Kogen-ji within the temple grounds to form a sect, and these four Eigen sects managed Eigen-ji on a rotating basis. In addition to Eigen-ji and the four sub-temples, Ganku-in (the founder's tower) and Eigen-ji were added to the temple and called the Iitaka Rokka-ji. During the Onin War, Yokokawa Keizo, Kageyoshi Shurin, and others came to the temple to escape danger, and in 1526 (Taiei 6), the renga poet Socho visited, but it was burned down by war in 1563 (Eiroku 6), and in 1571 (Genki 2), it was burned down by Oda Nobunaga, and fell into decline. *Some of the terminology used in reference to "Iitaka Rokkaji Temple" is listed below.
