Contemporary Chronicles - Toudaiki

A diary-style chronicle from the early modern period. Nine volumes. It is said to have been written by Matsudaira Tadaaki (1583-1644), lord of Kameyama Castle in Ise (Mie Prefecture), but there is no definite proof. It begins with an abbreviated account of major events from the Tenbun to Eiroku eras (1532-70) in the Kinki and Kai regions (Yamanashi Prefecture), and then covers the main events from 1570 (Genki 1) to 1615 (Genwa 1), focusing on the activities of Oda Nobunaga, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and Tokugawa Ieyasu. This is a valuable historical resource for research into the early Edo period, which lacks records from the shogunate. It is included in two volumes of the "Zassan Historical Collection."

近世初期の日記風の年代記。九巻。伊勢(いせ)（三重県）亀山(かめやま)城主松平忠明(ただあきら)（1583―1644）の著とされるが確証はない。初めに天文(てんぶん)から永禄(えいろく)年間（1532～70）の近畿から甲斐(かい)（山梨県）にかけての大事件を略記し、1570年（元亀1）から1615年（元和1）までは織田信長・豊臣(とよとみ)秀吉・徳川家康の動静を中心に主要な事件をその裏面にわたり記す。幕府の記録に欠ける江戸初期の研究にとって貴重な史料。『史籍雑纂(ざっさん)』二所収。
