Sea fog

Also read as "kaimu." Fog occurs when moist, warm air is carried over the cold ocean surface, and the lower atmosphere is cooled below the dew point by the cold water surface. Most of it is advection fog. Sea fog occurs in the northern Pacific and Atlantic Oceans as summer tropical air masses move north, and lasts for a long time.
