〘Noun〙 A type of oxcart. The roof of the house is made of ajiroi style similar to karahafu-zukuri, and small patterns are painted in lacquer on a white background. Retired Emperors, princes, regents, ministers, etc. rode on these when wearing formal attire. There are two types: ajiroi-bishashi- no-kuruma (ajiro-bisashi- no-kuruma) and biro-hisashi-no-kuruma (a betel-nut-covered cart) . ※Monogusokuzokusho (around 1412): "1. 〘名〙 牛車の一種。屋形の屋根が唐破風造りに似た網代の造りで、白地に漆絵で小文を描いたもの。院、親王、摂関、大臣等が、直衣を着たときに乗る。網代庇車(あじろびさしのくるま)および檳榔庇車(びろうひさしのくるま)の種類がある。※物具装束鈔(1412頃か)「一、車事 尼眉車〈関白太政大臣乗レ之〉」
