Kasabe - Kasabe

...The tribes of Eastern Tukano share a common culture, with minor differences. Their main occupation is slash-and-burn agriculture, and they make large cracker-like bread called kasabé (from the Carib language) from the starch of the poisonous manioc plant, which they grind and process to remove the poison. Hunting and fishing are also important, but they vary from tribe to tribe; for example, the Desana place more importance on the former, while the Pira-Tapuya place more importance on the latter.
