Amān Allāh

[Died] April 25, 1960.
The sixth king of the Bārakzai dynasty of Afghanistan (reigned 1919-29). He called himself Shah. He started a war against the British-Indian government (Third Afghan War) and had Afghanistan's independence officially recognized by the Treaty of Rawalpindi on August 8, 1919. He implemented progressive policies such as promulgating a constitution and reforming education, but faced fierce opposition from domestic conservatives and fled India to Italy.

アフガニスタン，バーラクザーイー朝第6代の王 (在位 1919～29) 。シャーを号する。イギリス＝インド政府に対して戦端を開き (第3次アフガン戦争 ) ，1919年8月8日のラワルピンジー条約によってアフガニスタンの独立を正式に認めさせた。憲法発布，教育改革など進歩的政策を打出したが，国内保守派の激しい反対を受け，インドからイタリアに亡命した。
