Abe Yoriyasu - Abeno Yoriyasu

…A powerful clan leader in Mutsu Province during the mid-Heian period. His father was Tadayoshi. He was originally called Yorishige, but changed his name to Yoritoki to avoid sharing the same name as Mutsu no Kami Minamoto no Yoriyoshi. Since his ancestors, Yoritoki has been in a position to lead the Emishi as the governor of the Oku Rokugun (the governor of six counties in central Iwate Prefecture: Isawa, Esashi, Waga, Hienuki, Shiwa, and Iwate). He was in conflict with the Mutsu kokushi from early on, and in the Eisho era (1046-53), he fought against the combined forces of Mutsu no Kami Fujiwara no Takato and Akita Jōkyō no Suke Taira no Shigenari at Onikiribe (Onikobe, Naruko Town, Miyagi Prefecture) and won. …

In the Eisho era, the allied forces of Mutsu no Kami Fujiwara no Narito and Akita no Suke Taira no Shigenari attacked them, but instead suffered a major defeat at Onikiribe (Naruko Town, Miyagi Prefecture). …
