1863‐1917 A theorist of symbolism. Born in Poland. His real name was Wyzewski. He moved to France at the age of six, and taking advantage of the trend of Wagner worship in France, he founded the magazine "Wagner Review" with E. Dujardin in 1885. He emerged as a theorist of French symbolist poetry with "Wagner's Art" (May-June 1886 issue). In November 1886, he established the foundations of symbolism theory centered on S.
