Fringillidae
A family of birds in the order Passeriformes. Includes the genera Finch and Siskin. Found on all continents except Antarctica. Many species are seed-eating. Well-known species in Japan include the Finch, the Siskin, the Japanese Finch, the Common Rubythroat, the Bullfinch, the Japanese Hawfinch, and the Japanese Grosbeak.
