...In the climate chronology based on plant remains in the peat layers of Northern Europe, this period corresponds to the boundary between the Younger Dryas period, which was represented by tundra vegetation including Dryas , and the Preboreal period, which was characterized by pine and birch vegetation. This period changed to the oak and elm forests of the Atlantic period, which was a postglacial high-temperature period. In terms of cultural history, this was the period of the development of modern humans, and the beginning of the Alluvial Epoch was the period of the Mesolithic culture, which was mainly based on microliths.
