〘Noun〙 (Abbreviation of "kikakuryouran (furious cholera)" from the meaning of writhing and waving hands around violently) A general term for various illnesses caused by heatstroke. Nowadays, it usually means heatstroke, but in the past, it mostly referred to symptoms such as vomiting and diarrhea. It may have referred to things like today's acute intestinal catarrh.
