Hakuryuu - Hakuryuu

Japanese: 白竜号 - はくりゅうごう

A Japanese offshore oil field drilling rig. It is called a lifting mobile platform (also known as a jack-up type), and was built by Japan Petroleum Exploration Co., Ltd. in 1958 and is used to develop oil fields off the coast of Akita and Niigata prefectures. It can operate in waters up to 27 meters deep. The Hakuryu became the property of Japan Marine Drilling Co., Ltd. in 1971 and was renamed the No. 1 Hakuryu. As of 1985, the same company also owns the barges No. 2 Hakuryu, which was built by the Japan Petroleum Exploration Corporation in 1970 and later owned by the company, and No. 3 Hakuryu, which was built by the same company in 1974, through to No. 9 Hakuryu.

日本の海洋油田掘削装置。昇降型移動式プラットフォーム(別名ジャッキアップ型)と呼ばれるもので，1958年に石油資源開発株式会社が建造し，秋田県および新潟県の沖合で油田の開発に従事。水深27mまでの海で稼働可能である。〈白竜号〉は71年日本海洋掘削株式会社の所有となり〈第1白竜〉と改名された。85年現在同社は，70年石油開発公団が建造しのちに同社の所有となった〈第2白竜〉，74年同社が建造した〈第3白竜〉以下〈第9白竜〉までのバージを所有している。
