Hayato Ata
〘Noun〙 A group that lived in the Ata area (western Kagoshima Prefecture) in ancient times. After the second year of the Taiho era ( 702 ), they were renamed Satsuma Hayato . ※Chronicles (720), Tenmu 11th year, July (Kitano Honin) "On this day, the Osumi Hayato and the Ata Hayato (Atano Haiton) wrestled in the courtyard."
