The eldest son of Aso Korezumi. He was adopted by his grandfather Aso Koretoki and inherited the position of Aso Daiguji in Higo (Kumamoto Prefecture) and his territory. He was appointed as the guardian of Higo by the Shogun Ashikaga Yoshiakira, but was unable to gain real power due to conflicts with his younger brother Koretake, who was on the side of the Southern Court, and the control of Imagawa Sadayo and others.
