Born on July 10, 1888. Worked as a newspaper journalist and hospital administrator. Founded and presided over Senryu Magazine in 1924. Became the first chairman of the Kansai Tankyō Literature Association in 1956. Died on July 7, 1965, at age 76. Born in Hiroshima Prefecture. Graduated from Osaka Higher Commercial School (now Osaka City University). His real name was Kojiro. Other pen names included Fukkudo, Phoenix, and Yanagi Ichiro.
