Mount Katsuragi

Japanese: 葛城山 - かつらぎさん
Mount Katsuragi
One of the main peaks of the Kongo Mountains, located southeast of Osaka Prefecture and on the border with Nara Prefecture. It is 959 meters above sea level. It is also called Kawachi Katsuragiyama or Yamato Katsuragiyama to distinguish it from Katsuragiyama in the Izumi Mountains. Mount Kongo stands tall to the south across Mizukoshi Pass. There is a good view from the summit, and there is a lodge and a campsite, and a ropeway runs from the Nara Prefecture side. Azaleas grow widely on the southern slope, and when they flower in May, they are a spectacular sight. It belongs to Kongo-Ikoma-Kisen Quasi-National Park.
