Born in 1400. Son of Ashikaga Mochiuji. His father, the Kamakura kubo (Kubō), was in conflict with the Shogun Ashikaga Yoshinori, and in 1516 the Eikyō Rebellion broke out. His father was defeated by the shogunate army and committed suicide in 1517. Yoshihisa also committed suicide on February 28 of the same year. He was 14 years old. His childhood name was Kenōmaru.
