Tipperary

Japanese: ティペレアリ（英語表記）Tipperary

A city in the west of County Tipperary in southern Ireland. Population 4,984 (1981). The name comes from Tiobraid Arann, a spring of Arann, which was on the main street in the city. Thoroughbred breeding, livestock farming, and grain production are carried out in the surrounding area, and Tipperary serves as a distribution center for these. In recent years, gloves, knitting, linoleum, and other products have also been produced. County Tipperary (population 135,261) is the largest of Ireland's inland counties, and the magnificent Rock of Cashel is located in the south.

アイルランド南部，ティペレアリ県西部の都市。人口4984(1981)。地名は市内の大通りにあった〈アラの泉Tiobraid Arann〉に由来する。周辺部ではサラブレッドの飼育，牧畜，穀類の生産などが行われ，ティペレアリはその集散地となっている。近年は手袋，編物，リノリウムなどの生産も行われている。なお，ティペレアリ県(人口13万5261)はアイルランド内陸県のうち最も広く，南部には壮大なキャシェル岩城がある。
