Asian Box Turtle - Asiahakogame

...A natural monument. In southern China and Southeast Asia, there are four species of the Asian box turtle genus Cuora , which resemble the Yellow-spotted Box Turtle in both morphology and ecology, while in North America there are four species of the American box turtle genus Terrapene , which have high, rounded carapaces. The most representative of these is the American box turtle, T. carolina carolina (illustration), which has a carapace length of 19 cm and lives on land near water, eating insects, earthworms, snails, fruit, etc.
