...Resins are used for incense, medicine, and as a raw material for oils and fats. Frankincense and myrrh, which appear in the Bible, are resins from the Boswellia and Commiphora trees, respectively, of the Burseraceae family, and have been used as incense in rituals since ancient times. They are also widely used as timber, and the wood of Aucoumea klaineana Pierre (English name okoume) from tropical West Africa is a good material that is light in color, light and soft, and easy to process.

...Medicine name. A reddish-brown vegetable gum resin made by naturally drying the juice of the bark of a plant of the genus Commiphora , a member of the Burseraceae family, which grows only in a few places in the mountainous region of southwest Arabia and in certain areas of Somalia on the opposite coast of East Africa. The quality varies depending on the original plant, with Arabian myrrh and Somali myrrh being of good quality, and bisabol myrrh, which is also from Somalia, being inferior.
