Phocomelia - Seal syndrome

A deformity in which the long bones of the limbs are missing or extremely underdeveloped, making the hands and feet appear to be directly attached to the torso. The mass outbreak in 1961-1963 was caused by the use of thalidomide during early pregnancy.
