Ako Dantsu

Japanese: 赤穂緞通 - あこうだんつう

A regional brand of the Kinki region, Hyogo prefecture.
It is produced in Ako City. It was founded by Naka Kojima in 1849 (Kaei 2). It flourished from the Meiji period to the Taisho period, but stopped once the Showa period began. After that, in 1999 (Heisei 11), an association was established to carry on the Ako Dantsu tradition, and efforts are being made to pass on the techniques. It is a traditional craft of Hyogo Prefecture.

赤穂市で製作されている。1849(嘉永2)年、児島なかが創始。明治時代から大正時代にかけて隆盛を誇ったが、昭和になると一旦途絶えた。その後、1999(平成11)年に赤穂緞通を伝承する会が立ち上げられ、技術伝承の取り組みがおこなわれている。兵庫県伝統的工芸品。
