A device for measuring the grip strength of the hand. When gripped, a metal spring moves and the grip strength is indicated by a needle. It is used to test muscle strength and nerve function. There are two types: the Smedley type, in which the scale is located on the outside of the gripping part, and the Collin type, in which the scale is located on the inside, but the former is more accurate.
