Dependent origination

...The characteristic of this theory is that in addition to the six traditional consciousnesses (eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind), it establishes two deep psychological levels: the alaya-vijnana (consciousness that contains the seeds that carry the mechanism for creating all representational existence), and the manas (consciousness that is the fundamental ego-attachment consciousness). In addition, the three-nature theory, which divides the way of existence into three, depending on the relationship with the subject of cognition: parikappa-sya (the way of existence viewed as real as subject and object), etaki (the aspect that arises through dependent origination), and perfect existence (the true form that is separate from the view of the real existence of subject and object), and the three non-nature theory, which expresses this negatively, are also unique to the Yogacara school. The school that advocated this theory of consciousness alone is also known as the Yogacara-Victims' School, and the ultimate goal of this theory is to transform consciousness from a polluted state to a pure state through the practice of yoga, that is, to transform polluted consciousness and attain pure wisdom (tenjiki tokuchi).
