Actinides

A general term for the 15 elements from element 89, actinium (Ac), to element 103, lawrencium (Lr). In the past, there was confusion because actinides sometimes contained Ac and sometimes did not, so in the 1970 IUPAC nomenclature rules, the term actinoids was unified to include Ac, but in the 1990 edition, it was once again permitted to use actinide together with actinoid for Ac through Lr. In the 2000 edition of the Chemical Society of Japan nomenclature, it is permitted to use actinide, but actinide has been used as the official name in subsequent periodic tables.

89番元素アクチニウムAcから103番元素ローレンシウムLrまでの15元素の総称．従来，アクチニドにAcを含む場合と，含まない場合があってまぎらわしかったので，IUPAC1970年命名法規則では，Acを含めてアクチノイド(actinoids)とよぶように統一されたが，1990年版では，Ac～Lrに対してふたたびアクチニドをアクチノイドとともに使用してもよいことになった．2000年版日本化学会命名法では，アクチニドを使ってもよいとなっているが，その後の周期表でもアクチノイドが正式名称のように使用されている．
