Minya Gongga (mountain)

Japanese: ミニヤ･コンカ[山]（英語表記）Minya Gongga

It is the main peak of the Da Xue Mountains, located at the eastern end of the Hengduan Mountains in central-western Sichuan Province, China. In Tibetan, "Kong" means ice and snow, and "Ka" means white. Glaciers develop radially on the mountain, and it is considered the "large solid reservoir" of the southwest region. With an elevation of 7,556m, it is surrounded by a number of high peaks of 6,000-7,000m, and is one of the five most famous mountains in Sichuan, where locals call it the "king of the mountains." It is said that "one mountain has four seasons," and the vertical distribution of vegetation is very clear. [Komai Shoichi]
