〘noun〙 (action)① A person's movement. (i) An action that is clearly expressed (as opposed to a thought or idea). All I do is read books and not be able to do anything'" (b) An actor's movement or performance. [Modern Dictionary (1930)] (c) A violent fight in a movie. Modern dramas that feature this as a highlight are called "action movies" or "action films". ② A device that transmits the action of the keys of a keyboard instrument to the sound-producing mechanism. *Memo (1927) by Terada Torahiko, tuner "I carefully inspect each and every key that is not working properly."
