A native of Musashi. He studied under Honinbo Dosaku and reached the 6th dan level. He was excommunicated in 1725 (the 10th year of the Kyoho era) after being criticized for the wording in his book "Shinsen Gokyo Taizen" and lived a wandering life. His real name was Masahiro.
