...The eastern side of the basin is bordered by the Wanizuka Mountains, centered on Wanizukayama (1,119m) of the Paleogene Nichinan Group (70 to 26 million years ago), which form the border with the Nichinan coastal region, and the mountain range is about 25km wide. In the north, the Aoidake Mountains (around 400m) are connected to the Wanizuka Mountains, and the border with the Kobayashi Basin is a mountain range containing shirasu at around 300m.
