A mountain on the border between Ishikawa and Toyama prefectures. It is on the border between Kanazawa City and Nanto City, Toyama Prefecture. It is made up of a mountain group including Shirahageyama and Okuioyama (939m), with Okuioyama being the highest peak. On the Ishikawa side, Shirahageyama is usually called Ioyama. At the top of the mountain, there are rhyolite rock peaks, Lake Onuma, Sanjagataki waterfall, and many kinds of medicinal herbs. Yakushi Nyorai is enshrined on the peak of Okuioyama, and the mountain's name comes from this. It is said that Taicho, the founder of Mt. Hakusan, moved to a cave here, and temples and temples of Hakusan faith were built and flourished here. On the Toyama side, a forest road leads to just below the summit of Mt. Shirahage. Buses run from the Ishikawa side, and the mountain is popular for climbing, hiking, skiing, etc. Although the mountain is less than 1000 meters high, it is steep and there is a risk of getting lost, so caution is required.
