Recently, the view that Ainu culture can be traced back to Satsumon culture is becoming established, and there is also a theory that the prototype of a certain fishing and hunting ritual in Ainu culture can be found in Okhotsk culture. In addition, some Satsumon pottery cups excavated from archaeological sites in Okushiri, Obira, and Teshio on the Japan Sea coast have symbol-like inscriptions on the bottom, and attention is being paid to them as being related to Ekashi Itokupa, which is said to be an Ainu paternal seal. ...
