Vories, WM (English spelling) VoriesWM

...Christian missionary organization. The founder was William Merrell Vories (who became a naturalized citizen and changed his name to Hitotsuyanagi Mereru), an American born in Kansas who came to Omihachiman in 1905 through the mediation of the International YMCA. He established the Yawata YMCA, worked as an architect and evangelized while doing missionary work, and in 1911 organized the non-denominational Omi Mission.
