Valabhī (English spelling) Valabhi

...Indian dynasty. At the end of the 5th century, taking advantage of the decline of the Gupta dynasty, Bhaṭārka, the local governor of Saurashtra, rose to power with Valabhi as his capital and established a dynasty. After the fall of the Gupta dynasty, he expanded his territory under the title of "King of Great Kings" and gained hegemony over Gujarat. In the 7th century, when Harsha Vardhana unified northern India, the dynasty maintained its territory as a subordinate to him, and after his death it became independent again and became a major power from Gujarat to the Malwa region of central India.
