In order to improve the above-mentioned shortcomings of turbojet engines, the jet velocity of the jet is reduced to create the turbofan engine (Figure 2). The combustion gas leaving the compressor-driving turbine is directed to another turbine, where part of the energy is converted into shaft power, reducing the jet velocity by that amount, and the resulting shaft power is used to drive the fan, which is a large-diameter, high-flow axial-flow compressor.
