Loblolly pine (English spelling)

...It is planted in gardens in Japan because of its interesting three-leaf needles, 20-50 cm long, growing in clusters at the ends of the branches. P. taeda L. (loblolly pine), also native to the southeast, also has three leaves and grows in marshes. There are a few species of pines that grow long branches two or three times a year, such as P. pinaster Ait., a two-leaf species that grows in the coastal areas from southwestern France to the western Mediterranean, and P. rigida Mill. (pitch pine) of the southeastern United States.
