Marine terrace

...A stepped plateau (terrace) formed in accordance with past sea levels and distributed near the coast, consisting of a terrace cliff and a flat plateau (terrace surface) in front of it. They are often called marine terraces to emphasize that they were formed by the action of the sea. These landforms were once near sea level and were formed mainly by the erosion of waves, but later rose above the water due to the uplift of land or the fall of sea level and are preserved on land.
