Hai-guo tu-zhi; Hai-kuo t`u-chih

Japanese: 海国図志 - かいこくずし（英語表記）Hai-guo tu-zhi; Hai-kuo t`u-chih

A geography book from the late Qing Dynasty in China. It describes the world situation up until the first half of the 19th century. Written by Wei Yuan. There are three versions: a 50-volume edition published in Daoguang 22 (1842), a 60-volume edition published in 27 (1842), and a 100-volume edition published in Xianfeng 2 (52). It was written by referring to previous geography and history books, Western geographies from the Ming Dynasty onwards, and maps. Keenly aware of the national crisis following the Opium Wars, it preaches the need to create modern military equipment to enrich the country and strengthen its military, and to encourage industry and commerce. Parts of it were reprinted in Japan at the end of the Edo period, and influenced patriots.

中国，清末の地理書。 19世紀前半までの世界情勢を記してある。魏源の著。道光 22 (1842) 年刊の 50巻本，同 27年刊の 60巻本，咸豊2 (52) 年刊の 100巻本の3種がある。歴代の地理歴史書，明代以後の西洋地誌，地図などを参照し執筆された。アヘン戦争後の民族的危機を鋭く意識して，富国強兵のための近代的軍備の創設，殖産興業の必要などを説いている。その一部は幕末日本で刊刻され，志士たちに影響を与えた。
