Music created using a computer. There are several types of music: (1) composing music using a computer and ultimately outputting it in the form of sheet music, (2) generating sounds using a computer, and (3) controlling electronic sound equipment such as synthesizers using a computer. The type (1) can be categorized into two types: analyzing the stylistic characteristics of existing music using a computer and simulating a work with the same characteristics, and using a computer to determine the elements and relationships in order to realize the formal characteristics of a new work.

コンピューターを用いて創作される音楽。(1)コンピューターを利用して作曲を行い，最終的には楽譜の形で出力する場合，(2)コンピューターにより音響を生成する場合，(3)シンセサイザーなどの電子音響機材をコンピューターによってコントロールする場合などがある。　(1)の形には，既存の音楽の様式的特徴をコンピューターで解析し，それと同じ特性をもつ作品をシミュレートする方向と，新たな作品の形式的特性を実現するために，コンピューターにより要素と諸関係を決定する方向とがある。
