Kaigen no Chi - Kaigen no Chi

Japanese:
Kaigen no Chi - Kaigen no Chi
This term refers to the political stability during the Kaiyuan period (713-741), the first half of the reign of the sixth emperor of the Tang Dynasty, Xuanzong (reigned 712-756). Xuanzong ascended to the throne after the Wuwei disaster (690-710), when Gaozong's Empress Wu (Empress Wu) and Zhongzong's Empress Wei (Empress Wei) monopolized the government. Using famous ministers such as Yuwen Rong, he worked to restore the early Tang dynasty's legal code system, including implementing various policies to deal with the collapse of the equal land system caused by influential people merging land, adopting a military recruitment system to replace the fubing system (conscription system), and appointing military governors in border areas. As a result, the population of the capital Chang'an exceeded one million, and merchants from the west flocked there, making it a major international city. The Tang dynasty also reached its height of prosperity, with poets representative of the Tang dynasty, such as Li Bai and Du Fu, becoming active and the period being celebrated as the height of cultural prosperity in history.
