On the other hand, in the 1920s Brecht declared artistic pure poetry invalid and asserted the importance of Gebrauchspoesie, practical poetry that was effective for social reform, but since then political poetry that inherited the poetic style of Heine and others has also shown diverse developments, and because of the bitter experience of being trampled on by the Nazi regime, it has continued to live on even more deeply after the war. In the process of moving from Naturalism to Expressionism, attempts were made to pursue social reality on stage, and Brecht's Episches Theater was created based on this.
